Description

How did people do laundry before the washing machine? Our grandmothers went to the washhouse, or armed themselves with a tub, a board, soap or lye made from ash, laundry brushes, and... elbow grease! Why not capitalize on their experience? From them, we learned that perfect laundry is achieved primarily through the mechanical action of washing. So, we thought that among our products for sustainable laundry, the Officina Naturae Laundry Brush couldn’t be missing. It’s a laundry brush with a handle made of beech wood and Tampico plant fibers, 100% natural, plastic-free, and Made in Italy. It’s an excellent aid for scrubbing laundry by hand or for pre-treating stubbornly soiled fabrics before washing them in the washing machine.

Some more information:

Tampico is a plant fiber derived from a specific agave plant, widely cultivated in Mexico. It's particularly suitable for washing fabrics thanks to its ability to retain water, which it gradually releases during use. The brush is made in Italy and is completely biodegradable, with no plastic parts.

We chose a brush with plant-fiber bristles to eliminate brushes with synthetic bristles, which can shed fibers during use, ultimately polluting our aquatic environments. It's designed to help you make a conscious, plastic-free choice.

How to use the product

Apply a little detergent to the stain or dirt you want to remove, thoroughly wet the brush, and begin washing the fabric. After use, let it dry thoroughly to keep the wood and fibers in tip-top condition.

If you want to sanitize it occasionally, spray a little Solara Sanitizing Stain Remover, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse. The hydrogen peroxide will immediately restore it to its original state. It is not suitable for delicate fabrics (silk, wool, etc.).

When, after years of service, it is no longer usable, you can dispose of it like wood: in the fireplace, stove, or, chopped into smaller pieces, in the compost bin or organic waste. Or take it to a wood waste collection center, where it can be transformed into wood shavings for construction or new objects!
